Come Into My Parlor

This is not my parlor, this is my tiny office that I rent in a coworking space. Every office should have a cozy place to rest.
I survived the summer! It wasn’t as bad as most years—I didn’t get a lot of work done but I didn’t get no work done.
I’ve been avoiding making a blog post because I was planning to put up all my substack newsletters, and that sounded like a lot of work. I had a meeting with myself and asked is it really necessary to have the same content available at two different internet sites and decided the answer was no.
My substack is the equivalent of me people waving down on the street and handing them a pamphlet (they are people who’ve at least expressed an interest in my pamphlets). This blog is different. It’s an invitation to my parlor. Things can get dumb or weird here, and people can come in if they want to, but if they don’t, they’re not missing out on anything that I consider important.
I will, though, at least include links here in case anyone in the parlor is also interested in a pamphlet.
Principles of Rest - a series of six principles I came up with to make sure I get enough rest and don’t push myself to the point of exhaustion (a point which is never very far away for me). I think this really helped me survive the summer months when I’m at my weakest.
You Are Three People - on how to have a better relationship with your past and future selves instead of hating yourself
Here are some Youtubes I’ve enjoyed lately:
I’ve done quite a bit of knitting over the summer. I’ll post photos soon.
That’s everything for now. I’ll try to do a better job of collecting weird objects for my parlor now that I know what this space is for.
